So last month I took a Japanese placement test to see where I stood after living and taking classes at a University in Japan for a year.  My sensei essentially said in a nice way that I sucked at Formal Japanese (I do find myself pretty decent at slang and informal conversation though, especially after an alcoholic beverage or two) and my Kanji could use some work and that I should sign up for Japanese 104 next semester (mind that my school only has 101-104). I was all for that as I am really lazy when it comes to studying things on my own and this way I would be forced to maintain my Japanese.  This all occurred back in October.        Fas

Month 8 of living in Chiba, Japan. So, it seems as if Japan's rainy season is upon me.  I don't enjoy sitting in class drenched because I'm not Japanese enough to ride my bike and use and umbrella at the same time.  I am never going to complain about how much it rains in Chicago ever again. Meh, what can you do. My soccer club has started league play so I have even less free time.  With class Monday through Friday, my English Conversation job on Monday, and Soccer practice on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and now games on Sundays, the amount of free time I have is almost none.   Some how I still find time to go out with friends; damn, Japan

My 365 day photo project...I cant believe I finished.  I remember when I started it quite clearly;  I was at my friends house in a small suburb in Chicago playing video games.  One year later, I find myself living in Japan (and having been here for 3 months now) and spending New Years at a friend's apartment having a Nabe Party and ending up at a karaoke parlor sometime after midnight.  It only makes me think, one year from now, where will I be?
